What is managed WordPress hosting?
Managed WordPress hosting is specifically designed to provide an optimised environment for the WordPress content management system (CMS). Our platform has been built from the ground up, using NGINX Edge cache technology to build an in-house caching layer, which provides the fastest possible loading times. We also include automatic core updates, staging environments, malware scanning, and a global content delivery network (CDN).
What’s the difference between a shared hosting package and a Managed WordPress hosting package?
Shared web hosting is more of a “one size fits all” solution for websites, supporting a range of technologies and pages at an affordable price for everyone. You can run WordPress on a shared hosting package, but the Managed WordPress packages are optimised for the development and management of WordPress websites, including automatic core updates, built-in staging environments, and tailored caching.
Will Eco Web Hosting migrate my websites for me?
Of course! We will migrate your website from just about any hosting provider in the world. Once you’ve purchased your Managed WordPress package from us, fill out our Migration Request form, and our Support team will get in touch with you for further details. They’ll work with you to migrate your sites over from your current hosting company and make sure everything is running smoothly before they go live.
Do I get backups with Managed WordPress?
Our Managed WordPress packages come with daily snapshot backups, giving you 30 days of rolling backups for each site you host, as well as any on-demand ones you need. The backups are accessible for your control panel at any time, and are a snapshot of your website or database from that time, making it easy to roll back both your files and database.
Does Managed WordPress guarantee that my website is safe from hackers?
No web host can promise a full guarantee against hackers. However, the combination of our web application firewall and automatic core updates cover a lot of the potential threats that can impact WordPress sites. You’ll need to make sure you’re only using official plugins and themes, and are keeping them up to date, to make sure your site is as safe as it can be. And if your website does ever get hacked or infected, our built-in malware scanner will let you know, and our snapshot backups will let you roll back to a non-infected version.
How does an auto-scaling cloud platform help my site?
Auto-scaling cloud platforms, like the one used by our Managed WordPress packages, grows and shrinks to meet the demands of the websites hosted on there. Unlike other hosting platforms, which disable sites when they get too busy, we allocate more dedicated resources to your site, helping it manage the influx of users, and will keep scaling up until your website quiets down and returns to normal.
What will a CDN do?
A content delivery network (CDN) caches a copy of your website at data centres around the world, so that when a user visits your site, it loads the version from the nearest data centre, making your site load faster than it would if it came from a single source. Our CDN also comes with a toolkit to help you optimise your site even further.
How do I get my free domain name?
When you purchase your annual Managed WordPress package, you will receive a free domain credit, which can be used on a .com, .net, .org, .info, .name, or .biz domain name. The credit is valid for one year from when you purchase the domain, and the domain will renew at the standard renewal price. If you’d like to transfer a domain in, or get a .UK domain name, just
